Our family of 5 really enjoyed the camp ground. It was quite, peaceful and calm. We originally booked site 15 but had to move to 14 because our power cord for the camper was not long enough. We did have a extension but it was still to short. Make sure you bring a extra large cord or buy a extra extension for your camper.
I shouldn't mention this because I want to keep this place to myself. Wonderful beach. Dark sky camping for the astronomy crowd. Quiet. Huge camping sites. You are not packed in on top of others. Loved it
The only down side is no water hook ups, showers and no dump station. They do have a hand water pump and pit toilets. This camp ground would be 5 stars if it had a dump and water station. We will definitely be back next year.
Our favorite campground. Primitive sites but only a limited amount of sites makes it very peaceful. Good fishing is plus.
Absolutely my favorite park and camp ground. Rustic and RV for $17 a night. Cute cubicle style camp sites. Beach, boat launch, and a national star gazing site. Beautiful private lake with beautiful landscape! Great fishing!
The park is wonderful! but be warned that if you go camping there, you are at the mercy of other campers because there is no 24/7 management on site. We had to endure several camp sites blasting music past quiet hours (one until 2 a.m.!) and having adults swearing and acting like the campground was their own made our camping experience a nightmare. If my son was not asleep I was ready to leave at 1 a.m. The park is wonderful and worth a day trip, but if you have a family, it may not be worth the gamble to put yourself in the hands of other campers who may not share your definition of following the rules.
Camp site 14 was located near the trail entrance that connects the camp ground, boat launch and beach. It was a beautiful 15min hike to the boat launch and then another 15 minutes to the beach area. It's not a smooth flat path but not difficult either, our 4 year old hiked it no problem.
The fishing was good, the no wake lake is peaceful and calm. The damn area located just out side of the camp ground on the hiking trail was beautiful and had great fishing. The night sky and sunsets are stunning!!
